'People are intimidated' - why 'juggernaut' Arsenal are the team to beat.

There's no doubt why Arsenal have become many people's favorites to win the Premier League this season.

Look at their results against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those same matches last season.

The Gunners have overcome all of them during this campaign, but surrendered 10 points across those games as they faded in the title race previously.

Defensive Prowess

Arsenal's backline resilience is a primary factor why they are seeming ready to finally fulfil their title ambition.

They stand first for unbreached games (6), goals allowed (3), attempts against (72), dangerous chances allowed (19) and expected goals against (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is possibly the best in the league, with Arsenal recording a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Set-Piece Proficiency

Their danger from dead balls is widely recognized, but opposition teams still find it difficult to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have registered 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can excel in various aspects now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just wary of them and it is excellent to see."

Title Potential

What is even more remarkable about Arsenal's start to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United at opposition grounds and Manchester City on home turf - and are still leading by four at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their traditional rivals aren't faring so well. This marks the premier instance at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The pressure was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer acquisitions in search of that elusive first title since 2004.

But the investment has so far proven successful in impressive fashion, with his side second top scorers in the league and boasting the most resilient defense, despite several injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three consecutive Premier League games
  • 385 minutes without conceding a goal
  • Only a handful of concessions in 12 games across all competitions

Former players and experts have described Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking challenging to stop" with the whole club now functioning with belief and purpose.
