Thousands Left Without Electricity in South-East Queensland and Victorian Regions Following Powerful Weather Systems
Around 25,000 households in southeastern Queensland woke up lacking electricity on Monday's dawn after intense storm systems passed over the state, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Extensive Impact
Residents witnessed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts verified that various areas across Queensland had been hit with large hailstones.

Response teams were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the impacted areas, with dozens of response units activated to address the widespread outages.
Victoria's Weather Woes
At the same time, nearly 1,000 energy customers in the southern state also experienced power outages after Melbourne recorded its heaviest rainfall in a year and a half.
Emergency response teams received 598 emergency reports across the area, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At one point on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in Victoria were without power.
Climate Outlook
Moist weather were forecast to persist along much of Queensland's east this coming days as a atmospheric system continued to draw in moisture against the shoreline.
Tuesday was predicted as the wettest day, with continued severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both states.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an greater possibility of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This warning comes after past events where similar conditions led to substantial respiratory problems in the area.
